Horizons turned upside-down.

Our gift to you today comes from your family at Broken Arts in the form of a very special announcement.

We at Broken Arts have been doing our thing for just over two and a half years. Two years, seven months, and four days to be precise. We’ve done quite a bit in that time: concerts, craft fairs, workshops, games, buskerfests… We started Oshawa’s first zine distro in order to bring you great zines from around the globe. Last fall we started up our own zine, Now Or Never, in order to document our burgeoning art community with interviews, reviews, lists, and more. The third issue of that will out be next month. But today we are extra excited to be able to announce another first for Broken Arts.

This spring we at Broken Arts will be releasing our first music compilation entitled Half-Built Horizons.

The album is being produced by Port Perry’s Theo Posthumus with art by Broken Arts member Defne Inceoglu. The 13-track compilation features many long-term friends of Broken Arts from the greater Oshawa area and beyond. Half-Built Horizons will be available on CD and by digital download.

Artists appearing on the comp include:
Avery Island
The Cane Toads
Chris & Cassy
Darling Meadow
Elephant Shoes
Hairy Holler
Home Movies
Katrina James
Jesse Maranger
Persian Rugs
The Undrummer
Viva Mars
Watershed Hour

No release date is set yet but expect the disc in May or June. We’ll provide cover art, a full tracklisting, and an announcement of the CD release party once it becomes available.

We are beyond excited for this and we hope you are too.
