Toronto Is Loveless

20 years ago this Friday British shoegaze band My Bloody Valentine released their second album, Loveless. That album is now considered by many to be the greatest shoegaze album ever and one of the best albums of the ’90s.

In honor of the anniversary Toronto blog Gold Soundz has put together a compilation of 11 Toronto-area bands covering each of the tracks from the album. Toronto’s Loveless features some of our favorite local bands including Moon King, Memoryhouse, and Whitby’s Volcano Playground. And the whole compilation is available to download for free from the blog.

In addition, Gold Soundz are curating a live show this Friday at the Toronto Underground Cinema. That show features Volcano Playground, Ruby Coast, and five others performing against the backdrop of MBV videos. It’s $10 at the door and, most importantly, it’s all-ages.
